Police: Convicted felon found with illegal drugs, firearms

LOCKPORT, LA (WAFB) - Lockport Police Officers arrested a felon for possession of illegal guns and drugs during a routine probation check.

On Monday, officers arrested Brent Tye, 31, after agents with Louisiana Probation and Parole found two loaded handguns at his home in Lockport. Agents found a third handgun that had its serial number removed. According to a release by Lockport Police, Tye admitted to the officers that the firearms belonged to him.

Lockport police say that upon further inspection, Tye was found to be in possession of two bags of what police suspect to be Klonopin pills, as well as small amounts of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.

Tye was arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux for posession with intent to distribute Klonopin, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, among other related weapon and drug charges. No bond has been set at this time.
