GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - After nearly a year of drama, the Gonzales City Council is ready to get back to business. Monday night, the council swore in the first of two new council members.
Neal Bourque won the seat after being the only candidate to sign up for the job.
Bourque replaces Gary Lacombe, who resigned after a group of citizens petitioned to have him recalled.
Also recalled in that effort was former councilman Timothy Vessel. An election to fill his seat will be held March 28.
