Jury selection underway in retrial of suspected killer whose first trial ended in hung jury

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Jury selection is underway in the murder retrial of a man whose initial murder trial ended in a hung jury.

Ernie Jacobs is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Jonathan Dixon, who was killed in 2007.

Jacobs is accused of shooting Dixon during a botched robbery. According to police, he and Brian Sanders tried to rob a store on Fairfields Avenue.

Judge Mike Erwin is presiding over the new trial.
