MORGAN CITY, LA (WAFB) -

Detectives said three men were arrested after a traffic stop yielded more than $25,000 worth of drugs.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office reported Lenord Howard, 25, of Jeanerette; Courtney Charles, 28, of Jeanerette; and Daniel Miller Jr., 26, of Franklin, were booked on the following charges:

Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute

Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute

Possession of Lortab with intent to distribute

Possession of Xanax with intent to distribute

Howard also faces a charge of transactions involving drug offenses. Bond has not been set for any of them.

According to investigators, narcotics agents pulled over a vehicle Friday evening and found three bags of marijuana inside.

Detectives said they continued to search the vehicle and discovered a "large bag of cocaine" with a street value of about $11,400 and a container with 11 "large pieces of crack cocaine" with a street value of about $15,500.

They added they also found a bag containing Lortab and Xanax pills. They did not give an estimate of how much the prescription medications may be worth on the street.

SMPSO stated Howard was found with $4,700 in cash on him, which is believed to be money from drug sales.

The investigation is ongoing.
