A Baton Rouge man has died from injuries sustained in a two-car crash early Sunday morning.
According to Gonzales police, Floyd Cox, 66, was driving westbound on I-10 West, near the Highway 30 exit in Gonzales when John Sanchez, 27, struck Cox's car. Police say that Cox's car became airborne and landed in a grassy area on Boudreaux Road. Officials say that Cox was properly secured in his car.
During questioning, Sanchez admitted to Gonzales police that he was speeding on his way to work. Sanchez was arrested and charged with reckless operation and driving under suspension.
