GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -

A Maurepas man was arrested Feb. 14, 2015 after police say he concealed stolen items on himself and his two-year-old daughter before leaving the store.

Just after 3 p.m., officers were called to Walmart at 308 N. Airline Hwy. in Gonzales for a shoplifting case.

When they arrived, they found 27-year-old Jonathan Brock Ledford had used his daughter to try and steal $58 worth of merchandise.

After Ledford was taken into custody, officers found him to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. The investigation revealed he was wanted by the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office for outstanding warrants.

Ledford was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on charges of felony possession of marijuana, felony contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, theft of goods/shoplifting, and fugitive from another Louisiana jurisdiction.
