LAFAYETTE, LA (WAFB) - It was a very windy and chilly Mardi Gras in Lafayette, where the King's Parade, which hosts King Gabriel, rolled through the streets Tuesday morning.
The parade started at 10 a.m. and the crowd was described as "pretty thin."
However, it seemed to start warming up just a tiny bit around noon and the crowd of revelers started to build. Kids and adults of all ages had a blast.
The parade has 17 floats and features bands from all across the country.
The big Lafayette Mardi Gras Parade will follow soon after and it will roll early this year because of weather.
So, instead of 1 p.m. regular start, revelers will enjoy all sorts of fun with back-to-back parades.
