BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

"Flessie," the giant flamingo featured for the Spanish Town parade has made it home safely.

Brian Nolan, board member and organizer of the parade, said a concerned citizen returned it after finding it in a dumpster.

He did not indicate what kind of condition the 10-foot tall creature designed to look like the Loch Ness monster is in.

When the parade ended, she was loaded on a pickup truck that was then parked downtown near the Sheraton Hotel on France Street. Nolan said "Flessie" went missing Saturday evening sometime between 9 p.m. and midnight.

"Flessie" made her return for 2015 after not being used the past few years.
