BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Be ready for a return of fog early on Lundi Gras (Monday) with a few sprinkles for the morning commute too. But temperatures through the day will be quite mild: mid to upper 50°s for the morning start with highs getting up to 70° or more for many WAFB neighborhoods in spite of the "wet" forecast for the day.
Monday's rains really don't get going until mid-day and into the afternoon, extending into the evening hours as a cold front slides through the state. The good news is that there is no severe weather expected with the frontal passage and rain totals for most areas will come in at well under one inch.
That's the flip; here's the flop.
The forecast for Mardi Gras Day (Fat Tuesday) is now mainly-dry, with morning clouds slowly clearing during the latter half of the day. However we trade the “dry” Tuesday forecast for some much colder conditions, starting Tuesday morning with low 30°s for the Red Stick and struggling to make the mid to upper 40°s for the afternoon!
Add in breezy-to-windy northerly flow and it will feel like serious winter weather!
