BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana State Police issued a statement Friday morning urging safety on the roadways after investigating seven deadly crashes in a 24-hour period.
Troopers said each of the crashes was preventable. One of the crashes was in the Baton Rouge area. It happened on LA 63 in Livingston Parish.
With Mardi Gras in full swing, they are asking everyone to a plan to ensure destinations are reached safely.
They said people should have sober drivers and all of those inside the vehicle need to wear seat belts.
Authorities want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable holiday. They advise acting responsibly can help to ensure fewer injuries and deaths in preventable crash.
