BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Just before Valentine's Day, the Jindals hosted a reception to honor some of Louisiana's longest married couples.

Ten couples met Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and his wife Supriya at the Governor's Mansion. Among those, Joseph and Felicie Rogillo of Rosedale, who have been married for 73 years.

“Up and down it's supposed to be.” Says Felicie, “If it wasn't, your good days wouldn't be good, if you didn't have any bad ones.”

The couple behind Louisiana's longest marriage, Lawrence Player, 101 and Varrie Player, 95, were unable to make it to the reception. They will celebrate 80 years of marriage this year.
