Man receives 40-year sentence after pleading guilty to manslaughter

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in a deadly shooting has been given the maximum sentence.

Mrcarl Coleman, 20, of Baton Rouge, was sentenced to 40 years in the shooting death of Dwayne Foster, 48, also of Baton Rouge.

Foster's body was found near a BREC park on Gayosa Street on Sept. 6, 2013.

Coleman was originally charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
