BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - For some February 14th can be a harsh reminder of a very stagnant love life, often resulting in tears. However, Baton Rouge singles can celebrate Valentine's Day without laying one finger on a tissue box. If you are haunted by images of cupid and blush colored hearts you can celebrate Valentine's Day with a more athletic alternative by bringing a friend to a baseball game.
The LSU baseball team is having a game against Kansas at 2 p.m. on Feb. 13 at Alex Box Stadium.
If baseball is not your style, you can avoid reruns of The Notebook and doting couples by (ironically) opening your heart. The Case Foundation website is asking for volunteers to participate in the Valentine's Day festivities by doing charitable deeds like baking for children or various volunteer works.
For those who would rather focus their energy inward, Macy's is having a sale on Valentine's Day weekend.
For social couples, there are a variety of parties like the Mardi Gras Party and the Belle of Baton Rouge Valentine's Day party, featuring Bobby Rush.
Families who are also looking to have a good time can spend their Valentine's Day at the Louisiana Art and Science Museum, where children will be able to learn about the importance of chemistry, and each participant will also receive a cool backback with surprises inside!
If you took any pictures of your Valentine's Day experience, show them off by emailing them to email@example.com, or you can upload them directly from the free WAFB 9News app.
