BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - New research shows Louisiana is one of the worst states at controlling bullying in schools.
Monday is National Stop Bullying Day.
Wallethub.com reports more than 160,000 children miss school every day in the US because they are afraid of being bullied.
Out of the 43 states analyzed in a recent survey, Louisiana ranked No. 42 for controlling bullying. Massachusetts was number one.
Bullying incident rates and the cost of truancy for schools were factors.
