LIVINGSTON, LA (WAFB) - A former star of the reality television show "Sons of Guns" appeared in a Livingston Parish courtroom Monday and now he has a few more months to get used to his new attorney.
Will Hayden, 49, of Baton Rouge, pleaded not guilty to the rape charges in Livingston Parish earlier this month. He is charged with aggravated rape and indecent behavior with a juvenile. An aggravated rape conviction carries a mandatory life sentence. His trial has been rescheduled to begin in May.
Detectives there said the rape charge is from March 2013 involving a girl who was 11 years old at the time. They added another girl came forward and told them she was a victim of Hayden's in 1995 when she was 12 or 13 years old.
The former reality star also previously entered a plea of not guilty to two counts of aggravated rape in a Baton Rouge courtroom.
A total of four victims have made claims against the founder of Red Jacket Firearms.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported Hayden was initially arrested on Aug. 8, 2014 on charges of molestation of a juvenile and aggravated crimes against nature for alleged sexual activity with a 12-year-old girl in connection with an incident that allegedly happened on August 4.
Detectives then re-booked Hayden on August 26 on a charge of aggravated rape related to that same girl.
About a month after the initial arrest, detectives said more charges were filed against Hayden after a woman reported he had allegedly raped her 22 years ago when she was 12 years old.
The Discovery Channel announced the "Sons of Guns" series was canceled after Hayden was first arrested and charged with aggravated rape of a 12-year-old.
Another motions hearing for Hayden in East Baton Rouge Parish is scheduled for April 21, 2015.
