Man found guilty in 2012 murder case

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A jury has found a 22-year-old man guilty for a 2012 valentines day murder.

Erick Scott, 22, has been found guilty in the 2012 murder of Kevin Johnson.

Investigators said Johnson was sitting in the passenger seat of a car stopped at the intersection of North Acadian Thruway and Choctaw when Scott walked up and shot him.

In 2014, Scott was charged with solicitation of murder for allegedly asking his friend and girlfriend to harm witnesses that would have testified in the trial.

Scott is also facing murder charges in relation to the 2011 shooting death of Justice Thompson.
