Driver of car involved in school bus crash that injured 17 charged with DWI, other charges

DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) -

The driver involved in the school bus crash that injured 17 has been charged with DWI and several other charges.

The driver has been identified as 32-year-old Brandon J. Vince of Livingston. His vehicle collided with a Livingston Parish School bus on Tuesday around 8 a.m. as the bus was headed to Juban Parc Elementary.

The investigation revealed Vince's vehicle crossed the center line and collided with the school bus carrying about 30 students.

Vince was taken to the hospital after the crash with serious injuries.

Vince is facing charges of DWI, reckless operation, 17 counts of vehicular negligent injuring, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule I, possession of schedule IV, and restricted license.

He is in the process of being booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
