Police say missing man suffering from schizophrenia found safe

PLAQUEMINE, LA (WAFB) -

Police said a man suffering from schizophrenia who was reported missing was found safe Tuesday.

The Plaquemine Police Department reported Norman Deggs, 64, was reported missing after he was last seen Friday.

Asst. Police Chief Kenny Payne said Deggs was located after his picture was put on the news.

Family members were very worried about Deggs because he suffers from schizophrenia and diabetes, which could cause him to become extremely sick without medication.

Authorities thanked everyone for helping in the positive outcome.
