BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A movie filmed in Baton Rouge last year is set to be released in North America on August 7, 2015, but the official trailer of Fantastic Four was released Tuesday.
The movie was originally set to be shot in Vancouver, Canada, but was moved to Louisiana due to the state's film production tax incentives.
The filming began in May 2014 and lasted for 72 days.
According to the YouTube video of the trailer, "FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel's original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy."
Sources say a sequel is scheduled to be released on June 2, 2017.
