BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Funeral arrangements have been set for Christina Bannister, owner of Christina's Restaurant for more than 20 years. Bannister passed away Monday morning after a brief illness. She was 60 years old.
Christina usually ran the cash register at her iconic downtown business but was also frequently seen filling food orders during the busy lunch hour rush. Open for both breakfast and lunch, Christina's had numerous regular customers who Christina knew by name. Her restaurant is regularly a gathering place for politicians, lawyers, and business people.
Visitation has been scheduled from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31 in the south chapel at Rabenhorst in downtown Baton Rouge at 825 Government Street. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with the burial to immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, located at 9595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge.
