BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - School Choice Week is underway across the country, with four schools in Louisiana and only one in Baton Rouge being recognized.
Kenilworth Science and Technology Charter School in Baton Rouge is hosting an informational meeting on school choice for parents.
School Choice Week recognizes the rights families have to choose what education is best for their children. It highlights and informs parents on alternative types of education like private, magnet and charter schools.
"Now, it's really incumbent upon parents to do their own work, talk to people who go to that school, talk to people who have students at that school and decide what's best for their child," said Mark Lambert, the spokesman for the school.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
