BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Officials are reporting that Robert Lewis, the man accused of raping one of his students, has been fired following his arrest on Thursday.
Keith Bromery, spokesman for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, confirmed the firing on Friday afternoon. Bromery also said that Lewis has been on administrative leave since mid-December 2014.
Lewis was the band director at Scotlandville Magnet High School. He currently faces charges of forcible rape and prohibited sexual conduct between educator and student.
East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Deputies are currently investigating reports of one more student possibly being involved with this case. Lewis's bond is currently set at $100,000.
