Suspect arrested after 16-year-old shot in the face

DONALDSONVILLE, LA (WAFB) - A Donaldsonville man has been arrested for attempted second-degree murder after a 16-year-old was shot in the face Wednesday afternoon.

At around 4:30 p.m. deputies received a call from a local hospital stating that a 16-year-old male was being treated in the emergency room for a gunshot wound to the face.

Deputies arrived at the hospital and learned the shooting happened on St. Patrick Street in Donaldsonville where a group of males had an argument regarding some stolen property. The same street where a sheriff's deputy was shot on Tuesday.

During the argument, 18-year-old Allen Williams opened fire, striking a 16-year-old male in the face, according to officials with the sheriff's department.

Sources say the 16-year-old is expected to make a full recovery.

Williams was arrested and charged with three counts of attempted second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.

He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
