Your Turn: Phillip DeSelle Prison Release

This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to Debra Poche' Dennis. She was one of many people who commented this week on our Facebook page about the impending release from prison of Phillip DeSelle. DeSelle murdered 11-year-old Averie Grace Evans back in 1990 as she was going door-to-door selling candy for a fundraiser in Natchitoches. He is being released on parole after having served less than half of his sentence.

Dennis is furious with the Department of Corrections. In her words: Excuse me. The Department of Corrections declined the family's request for a recent photograph of DeSelle because it would put him as a target? What about the children he will be living near? Now, they are a target. Sad. God help the children.

That's Debra Dennis's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, visit us on Facebook or send an email to yourturn@wafb.com.
