A Thibodaux teenager was arrested Monday for a shooting that happened just after 6 p.m. Sunday.

According to Thibodaux police, 17-year-old Joshua Harris walked up to a group of teenage juveniles and shot one of them in the torso. Harris then ran from the area.

The victim went to their nearby home, and family members called police. The juvenile was taken to the hospital.

The day before the shooting, police were called to Harris' home due to a disturbance. It escalated and he threw a basketball at a family member. He was charged with a status offense, which only applies to juveniles. Harris was charged as a juvenile because he recently turned 17.

When the shooting happened, Harris was charged as an adult.

Harris is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
