BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Authorities said a teen accused of shooting his friend to death while they were allegedly playing with a gun has bonded out of jail.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported David Edwards Jr., 17, was released after posting bond. The bond amount is not known.
Edwards is charged with negligent homicide in the death of Robert Thomas, 16. Investigators said the two were playing with a gun when Edwards accidentally shot Thomas in the chest.
Thomas was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
An arraignment date has not yet been set.
