BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Eight thousand runners are relaxing Sunday night, following a long day on the pavement.
The fourth annual Louisiana Marathon attracted tens of thousands of people to downtown Baton Rouge over the weekend.
Events wrapped up Sunday with the 26.2 mile marathon and the 13 mile half-marathon.
9News caught-up with runners at the end of the race, including the first woman to cross the finish line.
"Glad to be done, very glad, it's beautiful.
Perfect weather, great course, great fans, it's fantastic," said Aimee Newsom of Baton Rouge.
After crossing the finish line, Newsom and the other runners were treated to an after-party complete with food, drinks and live music at Capitol Park.
