Names released in Alliquippa Street shooting

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police have released the names of the victims of an early morning shooting that left two people dead.  The shooting happened just after 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning at a home in the 3300 block of Alliquippa Street.

Police say that Jamiya Owen, 38, and Jeff Baker, 34, were killed in the shooting

Officers were dispatched to the scene, and when they arrived, they found two unresponsive men with gunshot wounds. One man was found lying in the yard, the other was found inside the residence. Police have not released who was found where.  Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told investigators that the victims knew each other, and that they recently had a disagreement. Investigators believe that Owen and Baker were involved in a shootout, and that they shot each other to death.

The shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
