O'Neal bank robber arrested after detectives receive tip

HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) -

A man accused of robbing a bank on O'Neal Ln. Wednesday was arrested in Albany, LA Thursday night.

Officials with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office say 46-year-old William Mathis, originally from Albany, LA, was believed to be in Florida.

Deputies with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office and Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office arrested Mathis Thursday night, and he was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Prison as a fugitive from East Baton Rouge Parish.

He was wanted in East Baton Rouge Parish for first degree robbery.
