GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - Authorities said a man arrested for allegedly burglarizing several businesses faces additional charges after confessing to another break-in.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office reported Eric Glascock, 42, of Prairieville, was re-arrested Thursday on charges of simple burglary and simple criminal damage to property. No bond is set.
Lt. Col. Bobby Webre with APSO said Glascock admitted he was the person who broke into Sorrento Lumber Company on January 2. Webre added surveillance cameras captured video of Glascock rummaging through the store.
According to reports, a deputy responded to the store after a burglar alarm went off around 7 p.m. The deputy reported the front glass of the business was busted.
The sheriff's office said it received an anonymous tip Tuesday that led investigators to Glascock.
He is accused of burglarizing several businesses in Gator Plaza on LA 431 at LA 931 in Gonzales on January 10. In all three businesses, the glass of the front door was shattered and deposit bags were taken. It is not known how much cash the suspect stole.
He faces charges of three counts of simple burglary, three counts of simple criminal damage to property less than $500, and two counts of theft less than $750 in connection with those break-ins.
