Prominent Baton Rouge attorney Nathan Fisher dies at 72

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Nathan Fisher, A prominent Baton Rouge attorney, died overnight at the age of 72 after a long fight with cancer.

Fisher was well known for representing high-profile LSU players in court, pro bono. Among his clients were LSU athletes Ryan Perrilloux and Jordan Jefferson. Fisher represented hundreds of student-athletes for little to no charge since 1975.

Fisher also represented Lance Madison, who was cleared in 2006 of shooting at police in the Danzinger Bridge case following Hurricane Katrina.

Fisher is survived by his wife, Francine Fisher; his son, Ari Fisher and his wife Betsy; his daughter, Shayna Friedman and her husband Jordon; as well as his three grandchildren. Fisher's family owns the popular Tic-Toc Shoe Stores in Baton Rouge.

A resident of Baton Rouge, Fisher graduated Loyola of New Orleans's law school in 1969.

A memorial service will be held promptly at 2:00pm at Beth Shalom Synagogue at 9111 Jefferson Highway, followed by internment at the Baton Rouge Liberal Synagogue Cemetery located at 9665 Florida Boulevard.
