BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's office need your help identifying a suspect who stole a shopper's wallet from Walmart and purchased more than $1,000 in gift cards.

It happened on Jan. 12 at about 1:30 p.m. at the Walmart at Bayou Vista. Officials say the 75-year-old victim discovered her wallet was missing when she was at the checkout counter.  Video surveillance showed a female reaching into the victim's shopping basket, taking the wallet, and leaving the store.

The victim immediately canceled her credit and debit cards, but not before one of  the cards was used to make the $1,000 purchase.

Detectives are also looking for the driver of the owner of  a vehicle that is seen dropping off the suspect.
