BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police have arrested the man they believe drove the suspect from the scene of the first murder of 2015 in Baton Rouge.
Brandon Coleman, 20, of Baton Rouge, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Naquian Robinson, 19. No bond is set.
The Baton Rouge Police Department is still trying to find Roderick White, 20. He is accused of shooting Robinson to death during a robbery on January 6. He is wanted on charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal use of a weapon.
According to a probable cause report, Coleman told investigators he knew White planned to rob Robinson. The report also stated Coleman admitted to picking up White one street over after the robbery and driving him away from the scene. It added Coleman also said he later learned that White did rob and shoot Robinson.
Investigators said Robinson was shot during an armed robbery while walking on Walnut Street on a Tuesday afternoon. He was taken to the hospital and died less than four hours later.
Witnesses reported seeing a man flee the scene of the shooting in a black Toyota Camry. Police later linked White to that vehicle.
The search for White continues and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
