BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Three former Baton Rouge Police Department officers pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of abuse of power related to a sex act.
According to investigators, in early February, Travis Wheeler, Emerson Jackson, and Isaac Bolden, walked up to a man and woman parked in a BREC park. The man was reportedly forced to leave. Bolden then allegedly asked the woman to perform a sexual act on him. Reports say the other officers watched.
Bolden resigned from the force later in February 2014 after having been with BRPD for just over a year and before this indictment. Emerson and Wheeler were fired after a grand jury indicted them both with abuse of power charges related to a sex act. Both Emerson and Wheeler had been with BRPD for at least five years.
All three former officers face five years in prison if convicted and are scheduled to be back in court on April 24, 2015.
