BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Officials said a house fire was put under control in only 10 minutes thanks to some quick work by firefighters Monday morning.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called out to a house fire on Linwood Street near Seneca Street a little after 10 a.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found flames coming from the rear of the house.

Officials say firefighters kicked in the back door to gain access to the inside of the home.

Responders said it started in the laundry room, but did not spread to the rest of the house and did not receive much smoke damage because of the fast response.

There has been no word yet on what caused the fire, and foul play is not expected.

No one was home at the time and there were no injuries to report.
