BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore took the oath of office Monday morning to officially begin his second term.
Assistant district attorneys were also sworn in.
Moore said he's proud of his office's success over the past six years and is looking forward to more over the next six.
"The main goal is to protect society," Moore said. "We have a very small number of people who commit the majority of our cases and those are the ones we are going to target. We're going to focus on those. And the ones that deserve help, that need help, that want the help, we're going to try to get them the help."
First Assistant District Attorney Prem Burns was also recognized. She is retiring after working for more than 40 years as a prosecutor.
