BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Police say they have arrested a suspect accused of raping a 9-year-old.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that Isaiah Finnley, 19, was booked on charges of aggravated rape and resisting an officer.

The BRPD says that the victim was taken to see a psychiatrist for behavior issues on Friday, January 9. The victim stated to the psychiatrist that in October, Finnley came into the victim's room at her mother's house and raped her.

According to reports, when the victim told her mother what happened, she was accused of lying.

Investigators say they were originally called to Finnley's house on Friday when the victim's godmother told them that she believed that the 9-year-old was raped.

Finnley allegedly fled on foot before police got to his house, but was found hiding under a bed at the house on a follow-up visit a day later.

Finnley was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. No bond has currently been set.
