WANTED: 19-year-old Baton Rouge murder suspect may be in St. John the Baptist Parish

ST. JOHN PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Detectives believe a 19-year-old wanted in connection to a double murder, attempted murder and armed robbery in Baton Rouge could be in St. John the Baptist Parish. Officials say he is considered armed and dangerous.

Deputies with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office believe Plug Lanaute, 19, was involved with a shooting on Gardere Lane on May 18, 2014 that killed Orok Ironbar, 32, and Russell Celestin, 31, both of Baton Rouge. Officials reported Ironbar was dead when deputies arrived on the scene. Celestin was rushed to the hospital, but later died from his injuries.

Two other people involved in the shooting were arrested. Charles Lanaute, 18, and Darrius Montel Miller, both of St. Gabriel, LA were arrested and booked for armed robbery and two counts of first degree murder.

The investigation revealed the shooting could be connected to a drug deal.

Plug Lanaute is also wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department for attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery, illegal use of a weapon and simple robbery in a separate investigation.

According to police, Lanaute pulled a gun on two people and robbed them as they were walking on E. Boyd Avenue on Oct. 24, 2014. Investigators said he was then in a drug deal on Alvin Dark Avenue on Nov. 1, 2014 and fired shots at a man. They added the victim survived the gunshot wounds to his neck and shoulder.
