GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -

A former Ascension Parish Jail deputy and his fiance were arrested Wednesday after a month-long investigation into bestiality images being posted on the internet.

Deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office received information in December about the images being posted. During the Cyber Investigation, 31-year-old Jonathan Small and 27-year-old Jessica Chaney were identified and arrested.

Small is a former employee of the sheriff's office who worked at the jail. Officials say he was fired last September, prior to the alleged offense, for a non-criminal related personnel issue.

Investigators say he was identified as the producer and internet poster of the illegal material.

During a search of the couple's home, officials say evidence was obtained, including computers and cameras.

Jonathan Lewis Small and Jessica Leigh Chaney were both arrested and charged with obscenity and crimes against nature.

Both Small and Chaney are being held on a $5,000 bond.
