BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Penn State defensive coordinator Bob Shoop used social media to announce Wednesday night that he was taking himself out of the running for the vacant LSU job.

"So excited 2 b part of the Penn State Family," Shoop posted on Twitter. "Lots of work 2 b done. Committed 2 building a Big 10 n National Championship Program!"

After three successful seasons in the SEC at Vanderbilt, Shoop just finished his first season with the Nittany Lions and had even bigger success with a limited number of scholarship athletes.

Les Miles is still trying to find a replacement for John Chavis, who left for SEC West rival Texas A&M the day after the Tigers' bowl lost to Notre Dame.
