Sentencing rescheduled for woman convicted of murdering husband

PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) - Sentencing for Monique Kitts and Karl Howard has been postponed until Feb. 4.

The sentencing has been scheduled for today, Jan. 7. Kitts was convicted of second degree murder and conspiracy to commit second degree murder along with her co-conspirator Karl Howard in November.

Kitts' husband Corey was shot and killed in July 2010 in their Addis home. Kitts was accused of hiring Howard as the trigger man in order to cash in on more than half a million dollars in insurance money.

They both face life in prison.
