Suspect arrested in connection with 2010 double murder

Baton Rouge Police have arrested a suspect in a 2010 double murder case.

Ahmad Rashad Murphy, 29, was arrested in connection with the 2010 murders of Alton Spears, 31, and Johnny Kelley, 56. Investigators say that they learned of Murphy's involvement when he was on his way to their office for an unrelated incident.

BRPD Cpl. Don Coppola Jr. says that more arrests could follow, as police are actively investigating the shootings.

Murphy has been booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on two counts of First Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Weapon.
