BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson doesn't use Twitter much, but he was tweeting Monday after a report out of New Orleans stated that he had reached out to LSU about transferring.
"Don't believe everything you hear," Golson tweeted.
The move, however, could be viewed as testing the waters, if he can't win back his starting job with the Fighting Irish in spring practice.
The senior, who graduates in May, would need a waiver from the SEC to take advantage of the post-graduate transfer rule. A player is not required to sit out if he maintains good academic standing, but Golson was academically ineligible in 2013.
Golson lost his starting job for the Music City Bowl because of his 22 turnovers, often nullifying the impact of his 29 touchdown passes and 3,400 yards passing.
NOLA.com first reported Golson's contact with LSU.
