GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - Officers with Gonzales Police Department were called to the Reebok store in Tanger Outlet Mall on Saturday to investigate a person accused of filming a woman while in the dressing room.
The woman told officers she had tried on several pairs of shorts in the dressing room before she noticed a cell phone in the corner of the room, hidden under the seat. She told officers she picked up the phone and noticed it was recording and it had captured her undressing.
During the investigation, officers learned the cell phone belonged to a 16-year-old employee.
Officials say before the woman went into the dressing room, the employee told her he needed to clear the room. It was at that point he hid the cell phone and left it on record. In the video, police say the teen is seen intentionally hitting the record option and placing the camera under the chair.
The juvenile was immediately arrested and the cell phone collected for evidence.
He was booked in to the City of Gonzales Police Department on one count of video voyeurism and taken to the Assumption Parish Jail where he remains at this time.
