HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - Authorities said reports of gunfire at a trailer park resulted in three arrests and the guns found on and near the suspects had all been reported stolen.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office reported Darious Davis, 21, Dedrick Pinestraw Jr., 19, and Bradley Oden, 18, were booked on various charges Saturday night.
Davis is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, resisting an officer by flight and two counts of illegal discharge of a weapon. Pinestraw is charged with resisting an officer, illegal discharge of a weapon and accessory after the fact. Oden is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, resisting an officer, two counts of illegal discharge of a weapon, introduction of contraband into a penal facility and accessory after the fact.
Deputies said they were called out to Interstate Connection Trailer Park on Yellow Water Road in Hammond after three shots were fired. Responding deputies reported seeing three men walking near an apartment complex not far from the trailer park. They added it appeared as though one of them, later identified as Davis, was trying to hide a large object.
Dawn Panepinto, spokeswoman for TPSO, said Pinestraw and Oden were detained right there, but Davis took off running. He was soon caught. According to Panepinto, a 410 shotgun was found near him and shotgun shells were found in his pockets. She also said a .38 caliber handgun was found on Oden. She added a search of the area also turned up a .38 special about 10 feet away from where the suspects were first stopped.
Officials said investigators later learned all three guns were reported stolen after a break-in at a home on Yellow Water Road.
