BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The LSU football program has certainly been in need of some positive energy after losing its bowl game and then its defensive coordinator this week, so to the delight of Tiger fans, some good news was sent from St. Petersburg, Florida, on Friday.
A five-star wide receiver from New Orleans has decided to stay in Louisiana by announcing he plans to attend LSU.
Tyron Johnson from Warren Easton High School verbally committed to the Tigers on national television during the Under Armour All-American Game.
Johnson is apparently ready to be the next Odell Beckham Jr. He broke out a No. 3 LSU jersey with his name embroidered on the back.
He is 6'1", weighs 191 pounds and runs a 4.52 in the 40-yard dash.
The smooth and electric playmaker joined Jazz Ferguson of West Feliciana High School as the two wide receivers currently committed to LSU.
