BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - BREC is taking steps to eliminate any hunting concerns by putting up new signs on designated park grounds.
After complaints about the sound of gunshots and dogs barking, park officials are placing "No Hunting" signs at several parks in the parish.
Officials also said at times they would find deer corn and occasionally deer stands left by hunters. BREC spokeswoman Cheryl Michelet said this initiative is all about safety.
"We thought that we better be careful," said Michelet. "We are warning people that it's hunting season, give them a number if they see anything wrong and also let hunters know that it's not legal to hunt in our park."
Black Water Park and Comite Park are a couple of places where you will see signs posted. Park officials also advise you to wear bright colors in conservation areas.
