PRAIRIEVILLE, LA (WAFB) -

The organizer of a teddy bear fund in memory of a teen girl killed in a car crash said more than 1,500 bears were collected and delivered to charity groups.

Vickie Hall, a friend of the family of Claire Carline, 15, of Prairieville, said people donated 1,563 teddy bears.

The bears were then delivered to 11 charitable organizations Saturday.

Some of them were Toys for Tots, Brave Heart, CASA and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales.

The organizations will then pass the bears on to needy children.

The teddy bears were collected in loving memory of Carline. She died in a crash while on her way to Dutchtown High on December 9.

Hall offered a huge thank you to everyone who donated a teddy bear and assisted with the effort.
