BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Officials said there could soon be a new way in which officer-involved shootings in East Baton Rouge Parish are investigated.
District Attorney Hillar Moore is in talks with Police Chief Carl Dabadie and Sheriff Sid Gautreaux about having multi agencies handle the investigations of the shootings.
According to Moore, the plan has been in the works for years.
"This is way before anything occurred nationwide with the news that's coming on now and it's just a better way of investigating police officer shootings to have more accountability, more transparency to let the people know that they can trust the investigations that the officers do amongst and against other officers," Moore said.
He added everyone involved will review the new policy before officials decide to adopt it.
