PIERRE PART, LA (WAFB) - A man suspected of driving to another man's house to fight him was arrested on a charge of battery Tuesday.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office reported Ricky Aucoin Sr., 53, of Pierre Part, was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of second-degree battery and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Authorities said he was later released after posting a $10,000 bond.
Sheriff Mike Waguespack said deputies were contacted around 5:30 p.m. about a fight at a home on Paul Street in Pierre Part. He added it is believed Aucoin drove to the victim's home, fought with him and then left.
Investigators said Aucoin was later found at his own home. They added paramedics with Acadian Ambulance examined him for cuts and scratches on his face and neck, but he refused treatment.
According to deputies, Aucoin was then taken to Our Lady of the Lake Assumption Community Hospital for evaluation and was then taken to jail.
The victim's condition was not given.
The investigation is ongoing.
